What to Expect
Homeopathy understands illness to result when the life force of the being is out of balance. Symptoms, be they physical, mental, emotional or familial are key indicators of how the life force is trying to restore balance and thus, health. The aim of the homeopathic consultation is to get as clear and well-rounded a picture as possible of the symptoms you are manifesting and in so doing, be able to identify and ultimately treat the imbalance with the most appropriate remedy.
Your initial consultation will last from 1 - 1 1/2 hours. This is a time for you to share what ever health concerns and mental, emotional and physical symptoms that you are comfortable sharing. I will be interested in known or suspected causes or events that have effected your health and well-being and your general reactivity to the world around you. As a homeopath, I am particularly interested in things that you may have never discussed with other health professionals such as your reactions to weather, temperatures, seasons, times of day, when and what makes you feel better and/or worse, any strange or peculiar symptoms or behaviors that are characteristically yours. Remember, the aim of the consultation is to get as complete and well-rounded a picture of your state as possible so as to find the best possible match of remedy to start the healing process. I would like to stress that everything that is discussed between us will be held in the strictest confidence.
Follow Up Appointments
As your healing journey progresses, your health and symptoms will change and in turn, your homeopathic treatment plan will need to be modified to suit your new state. Follow-up sessions are were this key work is done.
Follow up appointments are up to 1 hour. These critical appointments are where we review changes in your health and well being since the last visit. I will be very interested in knowing about shifts in existing as well as any new symptoms that have arisen between visits. The goal of the follow up is to assess the impact of your homeopathic remedy and treatment plan and adjust both as needed.
The frequency of follow up depend on the person and the case. Once every 3-4 weeks in the initial few months is common. My goal for my patients is that they are well on the road to recovery as soon as possible and that they don't have to come in any more frequently then they absolutely need (or want!) to.
